Frequently asked questions
Are visor hoods any good?
For what they are, yes. They extract less than a larger hood and look plain, but they are inexpensive, fit under an existing unit and are quick to replace, which is often what a rental kitchen needs.
Why does the tenant say it does not work?
Usually the visor has not been pulled out. That is the capture area, and pushed in the hood barely extracts.
Can it run without ducting?
Many can run recirculating with a carbon filter, which then needs replacing periodically. Ducted is better wherever there is a route outside.
