The battery box is located on the back of the mirror. On top of the battery compartment is a cover, remove the cover then add 8 xAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment, then reattach the cover back on. To operate the light, a round on/off switch can be found at the bottom centre of the mirror. Use this to turn on and off the mirror's lights.
