Output decides whether a room gets warm. Pick the type for the space, then size it to the heat loss.

Outputs on listings are normally quoted at ΔT50. Low-temperature systems such as heat pumps need more radiator for the same room.
Frequently asked questions
How do we size a radiator for a room?
Work out the room's heat loss in watts or BTU from its volume, insulation, windows and target temperature, then choose a radiator with at least that output. Two smaller radiators often heat a large or long room more evenly than one.
Single, double or triple panel?
More panels give more heat from the same width and height, but stand further off the wall. Double convector is the usual choice for living rooms and bedrooms, single suits hallways and small rooms, and triple helps where wall space is tight.
Are valves included?
Usually not. Check the listing and add radiator valves to the order. Building Regulations generally expect thermostatic valves when a boiler or heating system is replaced.
What does dual fuel mean?
The radiator runs on the central heating and also takes an electric element, so it can heat on its own when the boiler is off. The element needs a fused spur fitted by an electrician. Some listings include it; heating elements are also sold separately.
