A processor is only as compatible as the board it goes in.

BIOS	The board's BIOS supports the CPU generation
Cooler	Whether a cooler is included; many high-end CPUs ship without one
Graphics	Models without integrated graphics need a graphics card

Is a cooler included?

Some boxed processors include one; many unlocked and high-end models don't. Check the listing and add a CPU cooler if needed.

Does the processor have integrated graphics?

Check the listing. Intel "F" models and many AMD Ryzen chips have no integrated graphics, so need a separate graphics card.
